    Lab Rat Low Volume Output

I haven’t built one but what you’re experiencing doesn’t sound right. Your soldering looks good but has your input jack, ground solder flowed properly? Also, might be worth swapping tubes to check that’s not the issue

Is a project like this possible? (please, correct or delete if not pertinent)

It was quite the challenge! To make a through hole kit, there would be some compromises (as always). It might take two boards. An extra board mounted on both of the footswitches [power supply board?] and the main board mounted on 8 pots (2 rows: Gain, Vol, Bass, Treb.) It would be a tight fit...

Modulation pedals after the Particle Accelerator

Welcome to PedalPCB and glad to hear you're enjoying the PA! Mine is almost always on. I have lots of pedals I've used after my PA with no problems. It is relatively easy to set the PA to unity by lowering the volume as you increase the gain. I usually set my PA to give a slight overall boost...

Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

Hmm… reverse mounted the Tube daughter boards to lift them up to fit the IE… which is why they had to glue the LED’s in with seperate wiring… ugly as it is… this took some serious effort 🤪 and - if it ever worked - some creative thinking. I’m worried that I’m starting to admire their spunk in...

Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

Oh… that should not have been sold with a clear conscience. But I think I can see what they were attempting. I agree… they have modded the pedal to put in a IE style DI transformer. I reckon the only way to mount it was with glue so whoever it was probably used the spare to fix all that loose...

    Bathtub Reverb??

The BTDR module is a little noisy but shouldn’t be all that noticeable. How does it function at different VOL levels with the MIX all off?

Steddi, Go! - simple tube D.I.

    500mA will do fine 😎

    Bass with Onboard Nobellium

Hey Alex, I got the iron on to do some soldering... but then I need to ask a few questions before I make that less-populated board for you. This PCB board is normally installed using two purpose made screw holes with the HPF switch and the 3 pots directly soldered onto the board. If you don't...

Still looks super cool!! Nice work :)

Particle Accelerator - Treble Knob Not Working

Hey #Slugsmoreslugs, Welcome to the forum! I'd love to see your soldering around the treble pot. I'm wondering if you have created a solder bridge across some of the pot pins.

Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

They’re NOS but need cleaning before use.

Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

I can’t recommend the Cioks Sol / DC7’s enough for tube pedals.

Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

I’ve made quite a few and 553mA is the lowest value I can quickly find. The tubes I use have a slightly higher current requirement (5814A’s). When cold the current starts very briefly at near 600mA before dropping quickly down to around 565mA and then slowly drops a further 10-20mA over the next...

    Bass with Onboard Nobellium

😎 unfortunately, I’m still quite new at PCB design and I’m headed into Christmas which - for a Pastor - means I don’t have a lot of spare time for my hobby at the moment 😊 But I agree a custom PCB would work best. Just to be clear, Nathan, are you okay for me or someone else to build a modified...

Bathtub Reverb Accu-Bell Effector Upgrade Project

Well... I'm not there yet! My prototype didn't work and it's mutch too crowded in the pedal when all connected to test safely. So... I'm thinking of building a few "in principle" modules so I can isolate what I've missed. And while I'm a but disappointed it didn't work, I've picked up a few tips...

Bathtub Reverb Accu-Bell Effector Upgrade Project

Great minds think alike sir :) That’s definitely part of the plan! That will give me “most” of the space I need. Then I’ll move the jack up and to the right just a little so the 1/4” plug misses that red cap as well.

Bathtub Reverb Accu-Bell Effector Upgrade Project

okay this side… So close but no cigar… out comes the dremel Output jack is too close to the socket. Looks like I’ll be making another prototype 😎 I’m hoping to get this one working though!

And now to fixing my pcb mistakes:

Bathtub Reverb Accu-Bell Effector Upgrade Project

In parallel to the second cap in the DC CLC choke is a 100nF film cap underneath. Some of my C2CE builds don’t play well together even on isolated outputs on my Cioks DC7 so I’m hoping this will help.
