An easy way to turn your Arachnid multi-effects pedal from an 8 program effects, to 17 effects, on the fly!
The stock pedal design gets its stored program instructions from IC2 24LC32A, but the FV-1 (IC3) also has 7 internal effects that are useful and musically nice. The internal effects can be accessed by grounding IC3 Pin13. Ungrounding initiates IC2. I used a micro DPST (mounted under the 9VDC socket), which has one lug to ground and the other to the R5 lead facing C4 and opposite of IC1 (which has continuity to IC3, Pin13). See pictures.
Up = internal & down = EEPROM.
The hard part is where is functionally best to mount the switch. I didn't want to be hitting it with my foot, so I chose the side with the input and output. If there is a next time, I will use two stomp switches. One to operate the bypass and the other, to access programs.
Internal effects accessed are:
Program0 Chorus-reverb (Rev Mix-Rate-Chorus Mix)
Program1 Flange-reverb (Rev Mix-Rate-Flange Mix)
Program2 Tremolo-reverb (rev Mix-Trem Rate-Trem mix)
Program3 Pitch Shift (Pitch 1to4 semitones-0-0)
Program4 Pitch-echo (Pitch Shift-Delay-Echo mix)
Program5 No effect
Program6 Reverb1 (Reverb time-Hi Filter-Lo Filter)
Program7 Reverb2 (Reverb time-Hi Filter-Lo Filter)
