I've been playing a fair bit lately. Having a new guitar helps. 😁

But I just like making things. Doesn't have to be guitar related but usually is. Just finished a long, low TV cabinet for my son's house. He and his girlfriend bought their first house a year ago and can't afford much, and he's an architect so asked me if I could build the cabinet he designed. Of course being an architect it's the most difficult thing I've ever built, which weird angles everywhere! It looks easy now it's built, but it was, um, challenging...

Of course you can't keep building furniture. I have already built a buffet/bookshelf thing out of hardwood (years ago), our dining table, three coffee tables, one of which my son now has, many, many shelves and even more guitar amplifier cabs. We run out of room for the amps so I have sold most I have built.

Every visitor to my office (room at the front of our house) gasps at the number of pedals everywhere. These days I don't build for the sake of building. I am looking for specific tones in ODs and boosters. While I haven't built many pedals in the past few months I'm starting to make a few now that I have my new guitar and some finally finished amps to experiment with. Currently playing with a BJF Dyna Red with reduced gain and extra low end with a bass knob (of course). It's a lot of fun.
