So I breadboarded a circuit based on the "Shrieking Eel" Electra distortion that JHS made on their Youtube channel.
I made the following changes changes:
-Deleted the "body" control, replaced that section with just a 100nf cap
-Swapped the transistor for a NPN germanium (tested at 151hFE on my TC1) + removed the 1M resistor between the transistor base and collector
-Changed the 4 diode clipping to 2 diode clipping with germanium diodes
It sounds pretty awesome! But it's too loud! Even with the volume knob at minimum I get well above unity volume.
What can I do to tame the volume a little?
