Forum Vibe transistor question?

Hello everyone, I have a question.
I ordered Forum Vibe mod kit from musikding, I had already build one before...
Well there is this darlington mod suggestion and i couldnt find more information online.

In theory how much of a difference would changing the two transistor for one mpsa13 make? Would it affect the sound in some way?
I already soldered it the original way...i am debating on adding the Q14 since the bulp needs 75mA.

I am most keen on desoldering the Q10 for the Darlington, is it worth it?
Thanks for any help :)

Changing q14 to an mpsa will up the amount of current drive, enough to give signal enough oomph to get the bulb moving. It’s one of those piece of mind things to keep your vibe vibin’

I recently changed my Q10 for an MPSA13 and am sorry to relate it made very little discernible difference to my ears. I recorded a few phrases on a looper for the Before reference and it sounded pretty much the same after the Darlington switch. Try it though, as always YMMV.

Well also my pcb arrived with the transistors pre soldered for some reason, and i noticed most of them are BC547A instead of BC549B. Dont know how much of a difference will this make...

Probably nothing that will be notable. The A/B/C at the end signifies the “gain bucket” of the lot. Looks like lower gain but can withstand higher voltage.
