Friedman Pedal Topology

I’m curious about the closest pedal predecessor to these Friedman pedals. I like the response of the Complex Overdrive(smallbox) I’ve built. I know a lot of the amp in box pedals are fet stages. These are ic stages What other pedals stack ic stages similarly? Anyone know a history?

The Friedman pedals were designed by Friedman to simulate the tone of Friedman's tube amplifiers using opamps & diodes. There are other amp/pedal builders who have developed similar products. Revv and Diezel make pedals that emulate their tube amplifiers. Clone boards for Friedman, Revv & Diezel pedals are sold here.

AFAIK the builder for Friedman is the same person/company that builds the Bogner pedals.

I’ve build a Tempest DS/BE hybrid and a Complex and somehow the Complex feels very stiff and lifeless to me. I much prefer theTempest.
