Ge Transistor Sorting

So, I'm diving into fuzz land. I ordered a few lots of Ge transistors from eBay and I'm planning to measure them all with my Peak DCA55. I was wondering how people usually sort them? Should I label each one or can I group them based on hfe and leakage?

I keep mine in a notebook. I'll tape a few to a sheet and write the results next to them.

I cut post-it notes into strips and mark hfe and leakage on each one individually, and dump them into bins by type.

Individually labeled was where my brain went. I needed the confirmation in case I was being too OCD.

When I test mine, I put each one in a component bag, write the spec on the bag with a marker. But I mostly leave mine unsorted until I need one and then I just grab some and test them and it doesn't take long to find what I'm looking for. I don't recommend my method though

I sort mine into buckets based on gain and leakage.
Low gain <50
Mid gain 50<100
High gain >100

Low leakage <150
High leakage 150<300
Bad >300

In general, all the bad leakage ones get put into a single bucket, same with the low gain non-bad leakage ones. The rest have their own buckets (ie. mid gain low leakage, mid gain high leakage).

This is exact enough for my pedal building requirements.

Nice! I literally do the exact same thing with mine and post-it notes. Go a little further and put the pinouts and npn/pnp.

I have WAY too many transistors at this point.......just ordered some more.
