Harmonic Percolator (Giblet schematic) Balance at full loses some oomph

Sorry all, wasnt sure how to word this. I have built a pile of these and each one essentially seems to fall off juuuust a bit when the Balance pot (A50k) is at max. I tried searching, didnt see anything posted, so I figured Id ask, I hope this hasnt been beaten to death and I just wasnt able to find the posts.

Could you post the schematic you're working from? (I can't find it.) Especially with this circuit it seems there are a lot of variations in part values.

Thanks! I guess the next question is, what do you mean by "falls off"? Are you loosing output? Does it gate off the attack and then come back in?

It just loses a bit of volume and drive. Its like the last 3% of the pot curve actually decreases a bit instead of continuing its upwards trajectory.

To things come to mind:

  1. Input impedance. It may be that 50k is too low and the circuit would benefit from 100k or even 1M for the balance control.
  2. The output of Q1 is overloading Q2. In this case, you might try reducing R24 to see if that helps.
