How do I use my multimeter (it has hz setting) to measure the clock frequency on the Byzantium Flanger?

I understand that I am supposed to set the clock to 40khz using TP1. But, how do I actually measure it? Put the black probe on ground and the red probe on the test point? Both on test point?

Pity me for being so ignorant.

Yes. Ground the black probe somewhere. I tend to stick the black probe in the enclosure screw hole or alligator clip it to the input or output jack sleeve. Red probe to the test point.
