Is my MOSFET fried?

Is there a surefire way to tell (other than the darned thing doesn't work) if a mosfet has been damaged due to static or other type of charge? Will the voltage readings be off or will it test different when using, say, a TC-1? In my current circuit I've got not signal going through a BS170, D-S voltages are about 5V and gate is 9V.

It's a SHO and my voltages are
D 9V
G 5.1V
S 5.7V

When I've had mosfets go bad, they usually read as 2 diodes, or it reads as unknown part on a TC-1.
Your Source voltage seems high..
