KOT - CP7660 vs tc1044

Hi y'all, My knight of tone kit from Musikding came with the charge pump 7660 IC.

The Building docs don't recomend this IC and suggest the tc1044
Then pinout is the same, though the 1044 has a 'boost' on pin 1
where the 7660 has not.
Can I swap the7660 for a 1044 in my knight of tone without damaging the circuit?

Do you have a 7660, no suffix?
7660S* has boost, iirc.
You want the boost. Otherwise your switching freq is 10khz and could bleed into the audio easier.
But, to answer your question, yes you can swap it.
If the pin is NC, it's not connected to the die.
