My first veroboard build!

I have had a really great, dialed-in germanium Rangemaster sitting on my breadboard for a few weeks. Today I decided to finally commit it to a permanent board! It worked first try, but I forgot a resistor in series with the E-B diode and things were out of whack - too little gain, mostly. Can you spot the difference between photo 1 and photo 2? 😂

All said and done, for having no plan and deciding the layout on the fly, I'm happy with it. It will fit in a 125B with no problem, so now I have the problem of choosing an enclosure and overall format. Should I make it a single pedal? Should I put it in a big enclosure with a germanium Fuzz Face in front of it? That second idea is really tempting...

Just finished boxing this build up about 5 minutes ago. I went for a bare 1590B with top jacks, since I have some, I like the bare metal look with the old-school skirted knob, and I hate side jacks. How did I manage to almost perfectly hand drill the extremely tight top jack holes, but I got the footswitch 1mm out of place? 😒 At least it sounds great.

I learned a lot doing this build, particularly about efficient wiring inside the enclosure. Veroboard is the shit, and will be my go-to now. I need to be friends with someone who has a drill press....
