OCD 1.4 weird mods

Got a OCD 1.4 in a trade last week which I planned to sell fast considering the recent prices on retar... reverb.com.
Plugged it in to make sure it's in good working order.
Sounded great!
Better than my previous 1.4 I had.
Opened it, and saw a few mods.
The obvious most common one: germanium diode gone, but bridged with socket installed.
But there's also a socket at "C4" with a 22n cap in it, a resistor bridging leg 3 and 2 on the volume pot, and R10, under the board is a 10k instead of the 18k that should be there according to schematics I found online.
Anyone familiar with these mods, apart from germanium diode mod?

What are you hearing in this modded OCD 1.4 that you like better than the stock pedal ?
It's less "gainy" and smoother sounding, maybe a bit scooped even.
Also the note decay/sustain is different.
The gain at 0 /"low peak"/ Volume and Tone up is magnificent on this one.
If I remove the socketed c2 cap, a 22nf in this case, it gets a bit more gain and the overall presence seems to notch up a little.
I put a 1n34 in the socket where it used to be (was bridged) but didn't like it.
Volume loss and more compression, which is suspected of course.
I'm borrowing a stock v1.4 from a friend next week and will compare it.

Thanks…
Interesting mods. And results.
I look forward to building the PedalPCB version and socket your posted mods.

hi that resistor across the volume pot making it a pseudo linear pot, it looks like brown, orange, black, black, orange, that's what it looks like on my screen, have you still got the pedal? if not maybe the original picture, maybe let me know the exact colours, as the ones I see dont make any sense ,normally be in the 10-20% range of the pot ,nice to know what he actually used,?

Read it the other way around :) 300k Ohms 1%

thanks for the message but yes I know its in the reverse by the brown 1% band but 300k is not even close to 10-20%,maybe its a bad picture and its a red making it 30k would make more sense,

I don't have the pedal anymore, the value of the resistor was indeed 300k. Seems like the purpose of the mods was to get it to sound like a 1.7.
Mods as i remember: germanium diode removed and bridged, Filter caps were 100uf (10uf in my fully original 1.4) 22nf in a socket (schematic says it should be a 100nf, and looks like of 1.7 pcbs on the net I've seen, this cap is not even there anymore.) 220pf Mlcc caps instead of the "normal" ceramic fulltone caps, and a 10k resistor on the gain pot instead of the 18k fulltone normally uses.
That's it for as far as I remember.

So did someone mod the almost Joyo UD OCD clone to the modded Freakish Blues Alpha Drive pedal debacle lol? I remember that going down lol. They modded a Joyo UD, repainted it and released it as an original if I remember correctly.
