Quick Question on Aft Preamp (EQD Bows)

There is a 10K resistor (R2) in series with the larger (100nf) input capacitor that is not used when the 4.7nf cap is engaged by the toggle switch. My quick question: Is this resistor intended to reduce the gain through the larger capacitor, to be more in-line with the smaller cap - or does it have some other purpose?

That's how I view it. A lot more low end will pass through the 100n so the 10k is to level match, roughly.
The 4n7 along with R3 68K make a ~500hz HPF as well(more overall level loss)
