Rat with Split/Blend

If I wanted to incorporate the Split n' Blend with a Rat circuit, do I need both input caps and resistors?

Can I just do this like it would be if I used the SnB board, or can I eliminate anything? Or would I be better off putting the blend knob before the 5458?

I have tons of smd201s and if this approach would work, I'd rather go with it. I guess I just have to breadboard it and hack it in to my pcb and see what works.
