Replace a trimmer with a pot

I'M not a noob nor a expert in electronics. I have looked it up but cant find an answer I understand so asking here . I built a Barber tone pump with on board trimmers I'd like to make external I beleive presence bass and mids . I'm sure this is a sumple procedure but dont want to create an unnecessary troubleshooting session I have enough already so if anybody could explain it or post a link I thank you in advance

Just replace the trimmer with a linear taper pot of the same value.

so pull trimmer get pot same value and wire it exactly how the trimmer how do you know what trimmer leg to pot lug it is? I know its only 3 things (lugs) just want to avoid any problems thanks for the help

I’d have to see the schematic but I typically treat pots, when looking at the back casing, as Pin 1, 2, 3 from left to right.

Match that up to the schematic and you should be good to go.

No sweat if you get it wrong. Just swap the wires at the pots.
