Stomping wrong and foot switch life

From what I've gathered and from insight in basic mechanical terms, momentary type spst(?) switches have more actuations in them than mechanical, latching switches. But

Is there anything to how you step on it that effects the lifespan in a measurable way?

E.g. lateral stomps, uneven pressure, or even just hard top stomps constantly.

Does it cause excessive wear? I mean, heavy, sure.

Anyway, I know this is a weird question, but I like asking them.

I don't know exactly what the "proper" way is to engage/disengage a footswitch.
But in most broken footswitches i've opened the plastic/nylon slider was snapped in 2 or more pieces, or the contacts were bent causing intermitting in the signal
If this is caused by excessive/forcefully stomping on it I'm not sure, but it definitely will not expand footswitchlife.
