tadya OD-1 mods

I built a OD-1 from Tadya and I couldn't get a sound I could use out of it. To me it was harsh and shallow. Are there any mods to make it more pleasant. I have built the Chop Shop, 5lb fuzz and the Aion Effects CC1 for overdrive sounds so I am new to the inner workings of these wonderful little boxes. I would be thankful for any help.

Try increasing C3 for more bass to come through and beef it up a bit. 100n may be a bit much. Try 68n

yep i had a similar experience with this circuit, changing C3 to 56nF or 68nF as @BuddytheReow suggested really helps (you could use socket pins to allow quick comparison between values)

I suspect you could do all of that with a dual op-amp. The first and last gain stages look pretty much superfluous.

Buffers aren't NECESSARILY superfluous. Especially an output buffer after the volume control gives you consistently low output impedance compared to the usual volume knob configuration.
