TLC2272 vs TL072

Hi all, I'm building a Symbolic overdrive, which calls for a TLC2272. I checked it out and it's similar to a TL072, but allows for rail to rail operation. If I were to use the TL072 in its place, I gather the pedal would distort more easily. Is that so? And, would that be advantageous?

I don't normally sub parts, but I'm trying to avoid ordering from 3 different places
