Tone vendor sag

Not sure if this will work, or be good/useful but I figured I would ask before I did something that could cause damage. I had an idea to add a sag feature to a Tone Vendor to simulate a dying battery. I was going to add a b10k pot and a 220uf capicator between the 1n5817 and pin 1 of the TC1044SCPA. would this cause any damage to the chip, or anything else down the line by reducing the amount of voltage being passed?

thanks in advance!

I feel like you would want to sag the output of the 1044 instead of the input of it. between pin 5 and r2 (MKii). I don't use a capacitor when I make sag pots, just a pot wired as a variable resistor where the power goes into the circuit, but after the led.
