Hello all!
Just a novice doing some germanium transistor testing using the RG Keen method and looking for some of the more experienced pros around here for some assurance that i’m doing things right. also hoping to post some nice clear breadboard photos (as long as everything is correct) for anyone else looking around the forums since personally i love working off photos to proof what i’m doing being a total beginner!
in some of the photos you can’t see the negative ground from the multimeter but it’s connected to the cable in the lower left hand corner going out of frame. i’m using 3 resistors in line with each other with one rated for 1.5k and 2 rated for 470ohms to get me to 2.44k and then the other one is the 2.2m resistor in line with a wire to connect to the base instead of using a switch.
so using the formula .050/2.472=.020=20ua leakage
then moving the decimals=100ua gain, then subtracting the leakage for accurate gain, 100-20= 80ua
So this oc71 would have a leakage of 20ua with a gain of 80ua! As long as I’m understanding everything right.. Would love some input from some experienced techs around here for some quality assurance! Thanks for checking out my post!
