I have the Wet Bar (Ibanez MF-5) on my board now and really love it. I was contemplating designing a three band EQ version. I’m not sure how best to proceed, so, I thought I’d put it out there to some of you with more understanding than I have.
My idea was to add a third gyrator for highs and then have a voltage divider pot to ground for each of the gyrators. Does this sound like it would work? I’d likely adjust the Q of the gyrators so they would have some overlap. If that would work, would the global tone control in the circuit still be needed? Or would passive HLM control be a better choice and maybe have trims for the gyrators?
