First Guitar Amp Finished

Thanks. I’ve built some other tube gear, mostly kit stuff (Bottlehead,Broskie, Hagerman) except for the first HiFi amp I built (1626 Darling), but never a guitar amp. What I’d really like is a blonde tremolux head. I figured this simple circuit would be a good first one and it’s not a Fender or Marshall.

Wow. For a first amp that is fabulous. And yes, those of us who build amps do get quite fanatical about grounding! Some amps I have been able to get the noise floor so low it's difficult to tell just by listening if the amps is even on or not. And if I can, then amp manufacturers should be able to as well. But no...
and sometimes, your house is situated less than 50m from a monster distribution mains XFR box and you can’t do shit about it 😭
well, it’s either that or something farked in the house, cos when i take my amps to the jam room they’re way quiter..

I have't worked out where it is but sometimes on weekends someone uses a power tool around here which makes, well, power tool noises in our power. Weird.

I live in a 100 yr old house in an old area and it used to be as noisy as hell on our power but these days it's not so bad.

I’ve been searching for one more tube amp to use the preamp section and pedalize and this right here is the one. Total not on my radar at all. Thank you.

Our house is surrounded my several hundred wind turbines all within a couple square miles. They say they don’t do anything but I never had trouble with noise in any of my amps till we moved here. I even tried with a battery powered amp and it still makes stuff hum.

You could try power conditioning. They suppress line noise.
