Source Audio EQ2 Programmable Equalizer

Anyone have any experience with one? It actually sounds like it could be the EQ pedal for me! For one it's programmable which is cool because the sliders on my little Ibanez EQ are so easily knocked. Plus it's apparently very quiet, something EQ pedals are not known for. Any reviews?

It is indeed one of the best EQ pedals out there. Got one myself. It’s not like a typical EQ in that the settings aren’t super accessible. Still easy to use for the most part. But the true power lies in the software. Be prepared to tinker! It’s a very powerful pedal but takes time to really get the most out of it.

I’ve been summoned!

So yeah, it sounds the way it should (no quirks or anything), and it’s effectively a pair of independently controllable 10-band fully parametric equalizers. Plus: if you need, it has a few preset slots. It’s a powerful little beast— I don’t think there’s another EQ on the market with quite as much going for it! 10/10 would recommend!
Any specific questions, just tag me so I see them!

Having looked at it a bit closer I see that not only can you program the slider positions but you can adjust the Q of each slider. That's pretty sophisticated. The sots of things I would want it for would be cocked wah/treble booster kinda settings among other things. I'm a big Beatles fan and love the sounds on songs like She Said She Said and struggle to achieve that sound through conventional means. It seems that this EQ pedal might get me there.

What do you use it for? And is the built-in tuner any good??

The built-in tuner is ok...but not as convenient as having a dedicated tuner.

As for getting particular sounds, yeah, a robust EQ can definitely do it for the most part. I know there's a lot of folks who have used an EQ2 to get the cocked way sound as well as the sound of various amps even. Add an expression pedal into the mix and you can do some pretty amazing things with it.

Definitely all of that is doable with the EQ2. If you’re not running it in stereo (I am for mine) then you can have one EQ channel pre-drive, and one after, so you can shape things really meticulously. You can even do some Wah stuff using an expression pedal, though I haven’t tried that (I think you can even have multiple peaks that sweep in different directions for a huge multi-Wah type of effect).

I use mine just to mess around at the moment, but it’s meant to be in my acoustic rig— just don’t have my acoustic rig together currently because I wasn’t doing anything with it for a while. I haven’t actually used the tuner at all because I also have a Strobostomp HD on my acoustic board, and since I dabble in microtonal stuff which I have presets for in the strobostomp, I haven’t had a reason to use the built in tuner.
