Played a Suhr Hombre today

And it's the first time in years that a new amp in a shop has wowed me! It's pretty much just a very good Brown Deluxe as far as I can tell. I had gone to the shop to show a guy I know there a pedal I had built, and he played a Tele and a Les Paul through it. We had been using a BF Deluxe Reverb RI beforehand and the Hombre sounded stunning after that. It sounded a lot like the one genuine Brown Deluxe I have played sounded but with less noise, a better low end and less raggedness. I suspect the Celestion speaker helped but overall it sounded fantastic. We used my overdrive with it and there was no low end flubbing at all at a decent volume. Really impressed.

It makes me want to built another Brown Deluxe now! I built one years ago and sold it. I really think that's my next amp project...

I LOVE the Hombre, probably the best amp John Suhr has come up with yet. And there's a lot of them that I like. (Badger is one of my faves)
