New Les Paul. I can't say day because it was about a month ago but still its purple and I loves it.

I have only played one wrap around and I don’t have fond memories of it. What is the appeal to a wrap around? Is it an aesthetic thing? Does the intonation hold up?

Mostly aesthetic tbh. Basically I think they're cool as hell. I don't think the intonation would be great with a straight wrap over but Faber do a compensated one which will let you intonate and keep the wrap over look.

Ahh okay, that looks like a cool alternative. I think PRS does a fully adjustable single bridge...or maybe it was someone else...I did a TOM on my warmoth VIP build and really wish I would have went with a floating or single piece bridge, takes up a lot of real estate.

PRS do one as well but theirs will have prs prices attached too. I'd be surprised if the faber bridge or a gotoh unit wouldn't be a comparable quality and about a third to half the price.

I want a new base plate for the trem on my prs but prs will only sell me the whole unit and it's £350! Madness. They don't even include the screws and they're £26.

This is Korean (so maybe Wilkinson) wraparound, intonation is so easy with it. I maybe paid 25€ for it from Uraltone. Just remember that most of the big brands just rebrand things.

Copper tape is for a test as I suspected contiunity problems with pickup housing. Time to resolder it when I have time to lay guitar on workbench…

Edit. url for wraparound bridge, it’s cheaper than I remembered! https://en.uraltone.com/ut-guitar-parts-s-w1-wraparound-bridge-chrome.html

I used to gig with a '54 RI Les Paul and the wrap around bridge was fine. I eventually swapped it out for a Pigtail adjustable aluminium bridge which sounded great and played perfectly in tune but it wasn't strictly necessary. The one piece bridge looks cool and sounds a bit punchier. Definitely not a night-and-day thing but I like it.

I've been looking at the Kurosawa site and some of the guitars are really tempting. The Kingsnake semis look beautiful and seem well priced. Shipping to Australia is a bit scary though - almost Aust$500...

My PRS studio high e screw rattled out and to buy a replacement set was over 20 bucks. I found the screw at ACE hardware for a buck.

I had a similar experience with the les paul special I had for a while.

Wow that's rough. Postage for mine worked out about £100 which accordingly to XE is about Aus $200
