Gotcha! :)

Happy New Year Everybody, this forum has been a highlight of my year and I owe a lot to all of you. It's hard to find corners of the internet that aren't infuriating these days, but there just seems to be this universal understanding to keep things cool over here. I've learned a lot, even from the dicks! :p Honestly, I appreciate you all so much.

Now off to drink Malort. Because I'm a Chicagoan and part of that is pretending it doesn't taste like bile.

See ya on the other side! 🤗

Happy New Year! I used to despise Malort when I first moved to Chicago from KC. Somehow, it has grown on me over the years. It sure does taste like bile tho. Cheers! Haha

I don't believe in new years. Stupid human construct. I don't feel a thing when the clock hits 0:00. Not even when we swapped 1999 for 2000, way back. But I ordered a tray of these online anyway, because I never had any. Just to add some actual "new" to the celebration, to make today at least somewhat different from any other day. A single can is almost as pricy as a typical pilsener in a bar. Totally worth it!

Going to save some to build "floats" for the fam this summer.

Sioux City Sarsaparilla is legit.
IBC is the one I grew up with.
I once detoured way too far to stop at one of the few remaining Dogs n’ Suds, just for the root beer.
Lost Trail is pretty good too.

A friend of mine loves the Intergalactic. Lots of extra herb&spice to it, but meh, too much so and too sweet.

Compared to the Phillips above, I'd rather have A&W or Bundaberg (and if I'm having Bundaberg, make mine a GINGERbeer).

Bundaberg has this weird 'mother' like pulp in it that weirds me out. Their ginger beer numbs the tongue, so have one of those first and you won't feel the flavor.
