What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Your test rig looks better than most of my builds, but same deal: even with my janky test rig I always rock before boxing. I do need to up my rig game though.

Best thing I ever built. Mine was purpose built to be an all in one box. I've always hoped someone would make my test rig on one board for everyone. Everything you could ever want: oscillator, headphone jack, audio probe, voltage selector and added side DC jack for powering my looper pedal off one power supply when I'm calibrating something like an analog delay or other BBD pedals. 12632.jpg 12633.jpg

It’s glorious!!!

Troubleshooted mates Vox VT30 quickly and changed a new dual pot for ”Power soak” control. Symptom was weird muffled sound with vol drop and OG soak pot resistance reading drifted like Twin turbo Supra. Now it blasts again.

Weirdest thing what gave me joy was I found finally use for arced NOS JA GE 12ax7wa. For fun I had an idea and tried the arced tubes in the VT30 ’s mockup tube PA circuit. Result was they all worked and sounded really good with the starved voltages the amp uses. Those tubes won’t work with real tube voltage anymore, but with low volts all seems good. :giggle:

I have this pedal if you need better pics! Q1 and Q2 both BC549c.
Cheers Bham, thanks for the extra pics.

BC549C confirms what's in the build doc, is what ships as well.

Most of the screen shots taken from the Hello Sailor vid don't perfectly match the final PCB-layout, as the TONE is in a different spot in HS's prototype PCB.

I'm not the tracing whiz that Robert is, and others here are, so I may hit you up for some more photos and/or some continuity checks.
I'll shoot you a PM later, life has taken a busy turn here and tracing is on the back-burner for now.

Nice!! That’s what I use as well. I don’t have the variable voltages, I have that on my power supply. It makes life so much easier.

I actually have two PCBs from him. Some of us who ordered early got a PCB with a horizontal tone pot that was the wrong board. When they noticed it, they sent us replacement parts and a new board with the vertical tone pot. My son and I built both of them.
