Eagle still working

So, asking for a friend - this is he said.

‘Mate, Eagle is still working in off line mode - it tells me to port to fusion but just opens up.’

Is it working for anyone else ? I’m finding fusion a bit more difficult to use, everything just seems harder.

Yeah, mine still works. It tells me next required sign in is sometime 2023.
I never learned how to export gerber files, so I only use eagle+oshpark because they take eagle files directly. I installed kicad once upon a time and it's still installed but I just plain don't like it. If my eagle ever stops working or oshpark stops taking the files I'll most likely be done making my own boards. I'm very set in my ways about all things computer related.
On a positive note it has motivated me to just get stuff designed while I still can.

I hear you man - I have a deep fear of trying anything else 🤣 the Gerber export is fair easy though. I only use JLC (I have found them really great.) what I have found is that as long as you set your design rules (with an imported file) to JLC specs as well as the cam file - it’s mega easy.

Huh, I downgraded to 7.7.0 in anticipation of problems. Honestly I prefer the way the libraries work, and a couple other minor things. I had some unfinished projects in the newer version, but I guess there are good reasons they were never finished....

I have it open on my computer in offline mode. Not sure what will happen if I close it?

However I’ve learned to just use the electronic design in fusion and it’s basically the same as Eagle, the interface is just a little different so you have to find your commands in new places. And just had to import the libraries, and I also can copy a schematic in eagle and paste it in fusion then copy the parts I need.

So if eagle does stop working offline for me I can migrate to fusion 100%, I recommend just buckling down and learning it, it’s not as big a jump as trying to learn a completely new program like Kicad, just have learn where they put everything in the new interface

I came in at the ‘9’ versions I think ! Wonder if I can install ‘7’ on my laptop. Iv tried putting 9 on and it’s a hard no.

You make some good points dude.

The thing that bugs me with fusion (I can use it, just prefer Eagle) that in pcb view when doing nets you end up with a mass off blue and red hollow lines if you know what I mean, add to this isolation and you have even more. In Eagle, they are solid and easy to see what’s going where.

I no doubt there is to set it to ‘fill’ the net lines, but I can’t work out. Visually, it’s massively distracting.
