Rotary switch height

ok so aside from what robert did with the flock any good suggestions for dealing with the height difference between most rotary switch shaft height and a pots. The slightly higher shaft annoys me. Obvious one is to just seat the knob a little higher up the pot shaft or cut off the end of the rotary shaft (neither one super appeals to me. A knob that came in two heights might be ideal, anyways just seeing what others have done here.

I've always used a different knob in the same color and style for rotary switches. An example would be the boss style knobs, I would use the regular skirted for all other controls and a non skirted for the rotory.

Yea the ones im doing are 1p5t that are close but the difference is enough to be noticeable

I typically drill a big enough hole to fit the larger flange, nip off the anti rotation nib, use an extra large washer to hold it, then use flush cutters to nip the extra height off of the switch shaft

Cutting off the end of the rotary shaft is surprisingly easy. It's extremely easy with a hacksaw, but in my experience you can even do it with the foil cutter on a bottle opener and still get a nice, clean cut.
