TL072 Alternatives

So recently I noticed that the TI TL072 opamps have doubled their previous noise specs from 18nV/sqrt Hz to 37nV / sqrt Hz. Not so good anymore.

I'm interesting in alternative PDIP style opamps that exceed the noise specs of the current TL072 for future use.

I am aware of NE5532s but they are BJT input and their current noise limits improvements due to needing very low resistance around them.

Otherwise the OPA 2134s are great but obviously very expensive.

RC4558/4560s, TL082s and LM308s aren't better with respect to noise.

I once bought a couple of TL972s but I vaguely recall that their max rails were lower

Any parts worth checking out?

It looks like these are the best options, if not a TL082;
  1. TL072H if you want a drop-in replacement at essentially the same cost.
  2. TLE2072 if you can spend about one or two dollars more per IC. It offers a worthwhile improvement in noise, slew rate, and bandwidth while remaining pin-compatible and well suited to +9 V audio circuits.

Are you sure? The TI data sheet says that the TL072H noise spec is 37nV/sqrt Hz, which is more than twice the 18-20nV/sqrt Hz figure for earlier TL072s.

(I don’t mean to sound rude, @Cybercow, but the writing style of what you posted reads like it was written by AI.)

Yeah I saw the supply voltage might be tied to GBW so it could be used lower with little consequence to audio band but still... It's not recommended.

If noise matters I just use OPA1642 on an adapter for most things that want a FET input these days.
