Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

Just started listening to this rad double cassette (collecting The Singularity, Phase I and Phase II) I received on Friday but didn't have time to get to before today.
It's a "collaborative sci-fi drone metal album from Thisquietarmy (Eric Quach) and Michel “Away” Langevin of Voïvod.
Pretty good stuff it's up your alley.

Been listening to Superwolves.

Fun fact since we're a pedal forum: I liked the phaser tones on the first Superwolf album, and asked Matt Sweeney on Twitter which pedal he used. I was thrilled that he replied. It turns out it was the built-in phaser on the Music Man amp.

I wonder if there's any pedals based on this circuit (or if it is based on a prior pedal)?

Been on a massive Steven Wilson kick lately. Hand Cannot Erase especially. I love the overall feel of this album. The guitar arrangements are perfect and the use of modulation throughout is so pleasing to the ears. Not to mention two of Guthrie Govans best solos (besides Drive Home from another SW album).

What else? Holzmans work on the synth is also stellar especially on Home Invasion/Regret #9 leading into Guthries solo.

Oh and Ninet Tayebs vocals on Routine are downright haunting. Nick Beggs and Marco Minnemann on drums it’s a smorgasbord of super talented musicians.

I just pretty recently heard these folks and have really been digging it.

Thanks for posting, I’ve never heard of them. Really good tones to my ear, on all the instruments including the vocals. Apple Music description says “a minimal, droning brand of garage-styled psychedelia”

This one has some some sort of modulated fuzz sound riding underneath the song. Mellow vibes! (Dang, that sounds like a pedal name for a flanging fuzz sound)

Trying to put records away today and I kept coming across even more stuff I wanted to listen to. This is basically 8 and a half minutes of squishing and a drum machine

We have an excellent jazz station here, kmhd, and occasionally they'll connect hip hop samples to the og tracks and play them chronologically. The most recent one I caught while driving was really good.
