Totally, I had to ground a few things but it all worked out in the end.

The bom on the lead solder should be changed to lt 1054 for the charge pump. I have been chasing noise for a while and that finally solved it. I built 2 side by side and they were both the same way.

Here's the problem. Charge pump is garbage. I switched out the 1044 with a lt 1054 ( same pin out) . Problem solved.

I built 2 of these side by side. They are a little noisy with the gain. I used shielded wire and it helped quiet it down a little. Is this normal?

I've added a 100k trim pot to it so you can adjust the gain to your liking. It has a very robust sound to it that you can dial back if you want. Sounds great.

I've added a linear power boost circuit in front of the effect to solve the low volume problem. Works well.
