Current Tayda fees after new tariff?

I ran the numbers a month ago or so and LMS came out quite a bit cheaper for a larger order of pots, switches and enclosures thanks to the $10 shipping cap and no sales tax. Since I’ve started powder coating my own enclosures, I only needed raw anyway. Right now I’ve got a cart going at Tayda...

    Tayda gloss print capabilities

Figured that was the case. Guess I will have to go old school and tape it off, just have never had success with that.

    Tayda gloss print capabilities

Hi! Putting some ideas together for a friend, have questions on Tayda’s gloss print capabilities. Thinking a matte black enclosure with gloss EVH style stripes. With the beveled edges, can the design carry cleanly onto the sides or should I just break it at the edges?

    What is this diode?

These were blessed by a medicine man that lives on the top of Mount Everest, sprinkled with 3 whiskers from Billy Gibbons and stored in the same cryogenic facility as Walt Disney, so yeah, they are worth at least $6.

    What is this diode?

A friend of mine ended up with a crap ton of random electronic components. While digging through it, I found a couple of SYL SR6723 parts. The Google machine says they’re Sylvania germanium diodes but when I measured them the forward voltage was 0.622 which seemed high for germanium. I grabbed...

    Graphics on phone?

At least here in Denver, a lot of libraries in the area have maker spaces with with computers, some have Adobe Illustrator and the like. Could be an option.

    Pedalpcb Uber Drive

Looks great! I did the "5 star GE" mod to a boss SD-1, may need to get an UberDrive and tinker with it some more!

    NEIN! (Fairfield Circuitry ~900 Fuzz)

No, obviously not. Germany uses the metric system so it would be 22.8cm nails

    NEIN! (Fairfield Circuitry ~900 Fuzz)

I see "Nein!" and all I can think of is the Rammstein song Du Hast. (Also - great build and report!)

    What's on the workbench?

If I were to commercially release a pedal, I would 100% add unrelated sections with obscure parts and values just so those pesky DIYer's couldn't reverse engineer it.

    Changing up tubes

That’s a clever idea. I might experiment with different amp settings though. Keeping everything identical might not always translate the same way kind of like swapping transistors in a pedal. Different ones can change the sound so a slight tweak might help each tube perform at its best.

What is a good “first pedal” for a bass player?

There are lots of good options for compressors with different ways to accomplish it as well as different features and tonal implications like the DynaRoss.

    Whatchu sittin on? (chair thread)

I am using an old office chair but looking to replace it as well. I have been eyeing a couple Herman miller knock offs. At work we have Herman Miller Aeron chairs but they were bought used during the pandemic from a company that went under. You could probably could get one under the $500 but...

What is a good “first pedal” for a bass player?

I really like the bass mod Klon for a little edge and drive. The clean blend really helps help the core tone as well as adding a little hair to the tone.
