    Pot Taper Sub Question

You could also use an A500k pot but wired in reverse (swap 1 & 3) to get the same taper as C but the control will be backwards from the way it was intended. I do this all the time with rate controls on LFO's....

    Unnecessary Pad

Because it takes 20 seconds and they do get in the way on tight builds like 1590A where there is no room (usually) for a battery anyways. Also the chance of soldering to the wrong tab is reduced to just about 0 because of the slanted side locating the sleeve tab.

    PCB design challenge #1

So I finally got around to having these boards made up and could not get it to work. Further inspection of the schematic I used I quickly spotted the error. I completely missed the rectifier feedback resistor which will in turn result in no gain. Easily fixed by kludging the 3M3 on the back...

    More jokes

It was the mailman's last day on the job after 35 years of carrying the mail through all kinds of weather to the same neighborhood. When he arrived at the first house on his route he was greeted by the whole family there, who congratulated him and sent him on his way with a big gift envelope...

Twin Face now an AM radio station

So I can't draw a pic for you but a 100pF to 470pF cap to ground after the 2u2 input caps should do the trick .....

SOLVED Pharmacist pedal lights no effect

I'm not sure if anyone suggested this yet but could it be the volume pot?

Design Challenge #2.1 - The CMOS Overdrive Deluxe

Must.... resist........ but I can't. SMD/1590B/9mm pot layout to come!! I'll post it once I'm finished... With your blessing of course.

SOLVED Pharmacist pedal lights no effect

Just thought I would chime in about something I saw in one of your pictures. It's around the charge pump IC, the electrolytic caps look bulging to me although it could be an optical illusion from the angle but if they are roasted might try replacing them with a higher voltage rating. Again, I...

    PCB design challenge #1

Thanks everyone!!! Fantastic job done by all!!! Was definitely a fun little contest. Wish I could take part in Buddys contest but work is kicking into high gear and I'm not sure I'll have the time. I do have an idea though.....

    PCB design challenge #1

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!! 1) Brett 2) Swyse 3) HomebrewTJ Actually I would put Temol up at the top but as he isn't taking part (although he should) my vote is for Brett, nice and compact man, nice work!! Thanks for setting this contest up, it was definitely fun. Great work by...

    PCB design challenge #1

That is why I like the EasyEDA cloud workspace. Can access all my projects and components from any internet connection. Its been pretty handy and I've been using it long enough now it would be hard to switch to another CAD EDA. I don't see a lot of people using it for some reason. I've tried...

    PCB design challenge #1

I'm working on the BOM and wiring diagram now. Work has been craaaaaazy.... wish I had more time. EDIT - Added the files for etching plus the schematic and a very crude drill guide for the pots which is just the document layer. Everybody's layouts look great but the build guides from all of...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

VB-2 schematic? Been curious about this one for a while now.... Did you use the BA6xx chips or just use more modern IC's?

    PCB design challenge #1

Finished mine yesterday with no jumpers!!! Got it first time, although if it were double sided I could get some of the power traces way shorter. Not trying to brag just sayin' its possible. ;) Now to just pretty it up.... I'm going to deck this one out..... you've been warned. :p
