    New Pedal Builder Suggestions

Thanks for the TSC link. I had not seen that before. That visualization really helps (I think) me see what changes the circuit is making. I am much more visual so this could be a useful tool. I have a gig playing pit woodwinds for 'Frozen' in the next month so not much time to play with my bass...

    New Pedal Builder Suggestions

Yeah, I have looked through Kit Rae's site. I have to admit that and the google sheet from Aion make my head spin a bit and point out my inadequacies in knowing circuits. But it also gives me a place to start my learning process. Below you can see where I took the Aion Halo kit and socketed all...

    New Pedal Builder Suggestions

Thanks for that. I do not yet have a sound in my head that I am looking for since I am playing easy songs from all kinds of different genres while I am learning. Right now, I am mostly using Peterson strobe tuner, Keely compressor, T-Rex Quint octave, and a Donner Blues Drive. I figure that as...

    New Pedal Builder Suggestions

Thanks for all the guidance. I have gotten distracted a bit int he past couple months, but have been doing a few things. 1) learning to solder. I made a bunch of electronics mods to one of my basses (new pickups, pots, switches, and wires). I also spent about 10 days with my brother helping set...

    3D Printers (again)

I started 3D printing in 1989. Seen just about everything. At the house I have had a Prusa Mini for ~5 years. Been a pretty decent hobby machine. On Wednesday unboxed my new Prusa MK4. From the time I carried ti to the basement, it was < 10 minutes before I was printing. It has been running...

    MaBell 6-5k

Cool. Thanks for that. As I was reading about transistors, that looked like it would work in theory, but I did not know if that would really work or not. Will file it away for the next time.

    MaBell 6-5k

Thanks for the feedback on the Halo. I was already looking at the Russian mod and having C6 and C8 at 47n. I did not look at C5 and C8, but I will see what other caps I have in my inventory and may simply put sockets in so that I can play with values there. The Adafruit board need 3.5-5v. That...

aboard -- a board? PCboard? breadboard? I see what you did there LOL Thanks so much. I bought the Aion Halo (Big Muff) full kit which will be next up on the workbench. I think I might be more excited to run my bari sax through this than my bass guitar.

The board is quite easy to learn and use. I first heard about it in one of Mark Rober's videos. There are also a lot of folks who use them for Halloween and cosplay sound effects. https://www.markroberbuildinstructions.com/courtesy-horn

I will take a look at the Daisy, but I think that is waayyyy ahead of my skill and need right now. Thanks for the link though. I am a 45+ year woodwind player who has become a big fan of The Warning and was inspired by their young bass player Alejandra Villarreal to buy and start learning bass...

I am using .wav file, so have a shorter delay than the .ogg file. The ramp up time does actually work in my advantage since the entire delay does make it an easily subdividable beat so I can trigger it as I play. This is one of the classic songs from the Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1940. A real...

The Adafruit board will not trigger the output until the button has been pressed for ~125ms. The sound file itself has about 80ms of lead in and ramp up time before the bell fully rings. So ~200ms before the full bell sounds. Pennsylvania 6-5000 tempo is about 140bpm (or ~425ms per beat). Which...
