CDXL test … and a question for anyone building it -

To say this plainly, this needs a part that uses 90% of it's resistive scale values between 100K and 1Meg ohms. The xvibe has 90% of it's usable scale between 1 and 5000 ohms … not helpful when in parallel with a 220K resistor.

CDXL test … and a question for anyone building it -

ok - quick summary of the xvibe part : 1 mA (low light) into the LED allows ~5k ohms … at 40 mA (bright light) into the LED brings the resistance to 1.5 ohms. Zero light from the LED is ~10 megohms resistance. This is my fault, for assuming the xvibe part had the correct values internally...

CDXL test … and a question for anyone building it -

OK … so I have the new CDXL "rev.2" board. I built it with exact value components, wired it into a case, and … nope. It passes audio thru the tl072 just fine, but no quack. So, I replaced the tl072 and xvibe with spares, and went again. Still no quack. I put a red LED in place of the xvibe...

Anyone Build the New CDXL Version?

Did your friend's new board work after building it ? Did you use an Xvive brand optocoupler ? -- Asking for my guitar

    pt2399 use ?

Belton Brick uses three, at slightly different VCO speeds, to simulate real springs.

    pt2399 use ?

Some of us use the clones here as a launching point for doing mods, it's faster to start with a board ready-made. It's also fun to make combinations of the boards here, in larger pedal boxes. BTW, a shame about PPP doing the 25 minimum thing. I will peel their sticker off my car. .

    pt2399 use ?

Thanks for the input, everyone. I will start looking at the items you listed.

    pt2399 use ?

Do any of the PPcb projects use a PT2399 ? - just curious - and if not, why ?

    Tap Tempo Delay

I'm doing something with an external microprocessor called Teensy (Arduino-based) that takes over the pots, the switches, and the master clock. It can mute or reset the fv-1, monitor the audio signal and clipping, switch effect eeproms on the fly, tap tempos, and remember your settings as a...

    Tap Tempo Delay

PedalPCB- are you folks still working on tap-tempo ? Are you using an external cpu to calculate, or an fv-1 eeprom program ? Will we see it for sale soon ? (love the idea)

    CDXL Vactrol Orientation

May I suggest, insert a regular red LED in the holes without soldering, to test the VACTROL orientation for actual functionality. This is how I discovered I had a bad board in the first place.

CDXL test … and a question for anyone building it -

*** Is there an easy way to determine if these are indeed the earlier boards ? *** If so, I bought two of 'em, and would enjoy having the corrected boards sent to me : Order #27399 was placed on October 9, 2019 and is currently Completed. If you want to throw in a couple of Arachnid boards...

CDXL test … and a question for anyone building it -

I put a red led in place of the vactrol to see how sensitive the input is on the CDXL circuit. Well, the answer seems to be "zero" - no LED flashes at all. The LED dimmed with the "range" knob, but never flashed. I removed the 4.7 uF cap from the board, and measured - pin one of the tl072 is...

    CDXL Envelope Filter

Can we post schematics from other places ? I believe this is very, very close to what you want. Use Xvive Audio VTL5C3/2 Dual Element Opto-Coupler.

    EEPROM selection PCB

THAT is a VERY important question ! What are the dimensions of the switch-mounted eeprom board ? Must it occupy space near the stomp switch where there is no PCB above it ? What is the height of the socket-mounted onboard assembly ? What keeps it firmly mounted to the DIP-8 socket ? PPCB...
