Straight build. When I made my Son of Ben, I did a few mods that are highlighted in another thread. For this build... and correct me if I'm wrong... I assumed that there's no real need for mods as there's no tone control and the signal goes fairly straight through? Maybe that is simplifying...

Ended up getting a new board and new board mounted jfts... it fired up first time. Must have been a jft issue the first time-- I must have overheated them or something. I just biased the JFTs to about 6V and it's sounding good.

Basically, I think my favorite version is a Violet Ram's Head with Civil War Caps and LED's (green or yellow) in both stages with a Mids knob.
