On the muffin, should d1/d2 be d3/d4?

Also, if I have wrecked the traces of D3 and D4 in futzing around with this, how would I hard wire D3 and D4 back into the circuit? wire to C5 and or C6?

On the muffin, should d1/d2 be d3/d4?

This helps a lot. I have been trying to get my brain around why the clipping was so subtle and similar sounding. I have built muffs in the past and know the basic difference in the way that stage 1 and 2 clipping sound. I couldn't figure out what was going on here. So, just to double check for...

On the muffin, should d1/d2 be d3/d4?

Quick question to those in the know... So on a muff there are 2 clipping stages. On the muffin, d1/d2 appear to be the second stage, while d3/d4 are the first stage. Is this correct? the numbering is throwing me off, but looking at the schematic, it looks like d1/d2 is actually the 2nd stage...

    muff clipping switch question/explanation?

@Fama thank you for that explanation! I figured it was a fine way to do it, but wanted to check. One more question.... because I'm unable to help myself, I still went in and modded the pedal :) I switched out the 2nd stage clipping LEDs and when I did that, only one of the LEDs lit up when I...

    muff clipping switch question/explanation?

Hoping someone can explain how this works: I'm a little short on time these days, so I got a pre-made muffin fuzz off of reverb from a builder I really like. The muffin has a clipping switch that is wired as such: there are two led's soldered into the 2nd stage clipping slots on the board...

    Bassifying a Muff

Just pulled out an old green russian build and decided to have do a little work on it based on what I've been liking with other builds: 1) Pulled the 2nd set of diodes and subbed in green LEDs 2) Changed the tone stack to "flat" mids per this info from coda: Flat mids: R5: 22k, R8: 39k, C8...

Sandford and Sonny BlueBeard Fuzz schematic?

I could get away with it, but that seems to be against the spirit of the whole thing.

Sandford and Sonny BlueBeard Fuzz schematic?

Where is this bluebeard logo from? Is this official? I'd like to use it on a build, but not if it's an official thing.

    Bluebeard and Blend?

I'm gonna make one or have someone make one for me. I found that old thread... my only question is whether it needs 47n clipping caps or 100n. I'm kind of into more of an overdrivey muff for bass. Maybe I"ll socket those caps.

    Bluebeard and Blend?

What did you use for your BOM @comradehoser ? Just the GGG tuned?

Anyone have an extra subarushi board? He's not selling them right now due to tariffs.

    Chop Shop for bass

So, I couldn't wait and just got a Nein from someone off of reverb. The rest of my summer is tight and I'm just not going to have time to build. The Nein is very good. Cuts through the mix nicely and is good to pair with the Chop Shop. It's very similar to the Chop Shop, but just a little more...

I want to hear how the Nein fuzz sounds on bass!

    Chop Shop for bass

Straight build. When I made my Son of Ben, I did a few mods that are highlighted in another thread. For this build... and correct me if I'm wrong... I assumed that there's no real need for mods as there's no tone control and the signal goes fairly straight through? Maybe that is simplifying...

    Chop Shop for bass

I'll post pics later... just finally got this together last night and played it in practice. Had a disastrous first build that I just couldn't fix and was likely due to burnt out jfts. Did a 2nd try and the build couldn't have been easier and it fired up first try. I like jft based drives and...
