Aaaand you were right, I used the IC bought from Aion and it works perfectly. I will message Banzai but would not hope for much, will definitely stay away from their stock and I advise the same to you Guys. Weird how a rather large retailer would stock fakes without shame and price them for what...
Fair point, I have never had issues with the IC's I was sourcing from them (including some of the difficult to get ones like XR2206CP) but who knows. I just got a package from Aion with some PCBs, I got one of their M68315AP to be sure I am testing on a genuine one. Will see how it looks.
From my own build I can tell you will not find a trimpot position where the bleed goes away 100%. It's kind of like calibrating a BBD for lowest noise floor possible. Well done!
Yes, I verified all transistors (have not pulled them out of the board to test but right parts are in the right positions).
In terms of CMOS inverter - I was careful and just to test I replaced it with another one I have (bought a couple when I was ordering them from Mouser). I have the same...
Thank you for the suggestions. Following your points:
- Pinout for the Vreg is the same and I am getting 5V out of it. Just to make sure it's not causing any issues I replaced it but it did not make any change.
- Pics + a short video showing the issue attached
- I got the chip from...
Hi All,
I just finished building the Aion Elysium (Ibanez EM5 Echomachine clone) and have an issue with the pedal having some thumping noise which starts to self oscillate with feedback turned up. This happens even with guitar not plugged in which means the noise gets generated someplace in the...
I second that, I spent more time looking into schematics of this flanger than all other build schematics combined. I need to build the Cheese Source and Brown Source, other than than got the lot as well
Short update - I swapped the ultrabright LED I had installed originally for another clear one with much closer spec to Aion's recommendation and the pedal works perfectly. For anyone reading this far into the thread - mind your LED specs when not buying a full Aion kit! I was an idiot to pick a...
I needed to take a break from this one and built the Ring Stinger which was another intimidating Aion board that was waiting it's turn. Turned out perfect, no issues whatsover :) Freakish yet very musical pedal.
I plan to come back to the flanger once I get correct clear LED for BBD board -...
We'll get to the bottom of it. I am 100% all wiring is done per the build docs and there are no shorts so it must be something else that is messing with the mix. I need to check how does the time out jack switch off modulations from space out when you use both in stereo - it seems the switching...
I think I just hit a breakthrough - I decided to box the pedal back and spend more time testing it in various settings seeing all components are good - through Time out and Space out separately.
First thing I noticed - when I crank Manual all the way I managed to get some modulated settings...
