So the drive side sounds fantastic, but the boost doesnt seem to work! If I max out the volume, it farts out very very softly, bit like if I had to fart in a lift. Tested the op-amps and they're good! Bypass works ok as well. Left out the LDRs - which I don't believe affects the sound.

Anyone have Tayda drill template for this?

oh man the HFE & leakage requirements of a zonk / FZ-1(A) always scare me! maybe i should give them a shot.

So I recently got a batch with HFE between 100 and 200+, and leakages between 500 & 1000. I know a EQD Tone Repear sounds great even with those mad values from my personal testing. Am also looking to experiment with dizzy tone circuits, where I know q3 requires some leakage to bias properly...

If the two buffers are of good quality, stacking two into each other shouldn't be a problem. Noting that the Octarock is built for true-bypass, meaning the input buffer will only kick in when the effect is turned on.

Sounds like you might have a short somewhere on the board? And have you also tried tuning the trimpots inside using Fairfield's instructions?

Fixed! Was a bad J201 in Q4 - the distorting started to come in throughout the sweep of the knob.
