For slaps or very short rooms, predelay does a good job of what you’re asking for. Ducking can unclutter things when using long decay times.

Was it expecting you to use a comma for a decimal point? I have never seen that in an IDE.

Wire a resistor the same value as the pot between the 1st and 2nd pin and jumper the 2nd and 3rd pin. Try not to get it backwards.
