Minidrive - Which version is it?

I see the Minidrive is out of stock - has it been out all this time? I hope it will be available soon.

    Tube Screamer Schematic Question

As no-one else has leapt in, all I can suggest is that it makes no difference as the capacitor C3 blocks DC, so it really doesn't matter what voltage level the 4k7 resistor is connected to - all that flows through it is AC (filtered off from the feedback loop).

    Chop Shop with MMBFJ201

I re-biased it (was 6.65v, now 6.1v), checked value of all components, and tried it again into a clean-ish amp. I can now hear that its is doing something 'interesting' to the harmonics - and its clear when its on and when its off. My settings are Drive 90% and Sag 70%. I agree with your...

    Chop Shop with MMBFJ201

Looking back at this build I'm sorry to report it didn't live on my board very long. Effect is too subtle for me. At times I can't even tell if its on. I might open it up and look for a problem as its hard to tell its doing anything. Very surprised to see so many rate it so highly.

All Tayda pre-drilled, powder coated enclosures out of stock

It might a useful extension to your business, but at this point I'd just like to know if a 3 pot pedal pcb design will fit in one of the Amplified Parts ones. My guess is it will, but I expect your more prolific builders will have tried already.

All Tayda pre-drilled, powder coated enclosures out of stock

I just noticed that Amplified Parts is now selling predrilled 125Bs. They are intended to align with Mod PCBs, but I was wondering how close a fit they would be to PedalPCBs? If so, this would be an attractive option as Tayda is tariffed and no longer does the non-custom order enclosures.

Pedal to 'Blackface' a Tweed Deluxe

I finally got around to modding the 5e3 to tame the low end and decided to go with The Edge mods - 12AX7 in V1, and swap both phase inverter coupling caps from 0.1 to 0.022uF. It works! Low end is much nicer, and amp sounds sweeter (if that's the right word). So I think that will do for mods to...

All Tayda pre-drilled, powder coated enclosures out of stock

Tayda predrilled are still showing as out of stock. Bummer.

    The Clap mid boost

Does it deliver the goods? I'm surprised they made this with so many discrete components rather than a simpler and cheaper opamp based design.

    The Clap mid boost

Hi Robert, did you manage to fix this design? I'm interested in building one of these but will hold off until you have done what you need to do.

Pedal to 'Blackface' a Tweed Deluxe

Excellent post, lets talk 5e3 biasing and coupling caps as I think its important info. First of all, the amp sounds great as is, I'm just trying to see if I can get other Fender-family tones out of it via a pedal rather than bypass or coupling cap mods. I agree that 100% dissipation is ideal...

Pedal to 'Blackface' a Tweed Deluxe

Yes, I think I'm looking to do something a little different here. An amp in the box is not going to be the same as a pedal that transforms the EQ of an existing amp into another fairly similar amp. So I will look at designing a pedal that cuts a little bit of bass, adds a little bit of mid scoop...

Pedal to 'Blackface' a Tweed Deluxe

I modeled the 763 in LTSPice. The overall EQ doesn't have a mid scoop, just a distinct high boost. I don't think that pedal is going to make a 5e3 sound like a Blackface. I think I'll have to do some engineering to figure out how to do it.

Pedal to 'Blackface' a Tweed Deluxe

Couldn't see any build reports on either in here. I think they would work on a vanilla amp but to tweak (specifically) the 5e3 to a 763 might need some engineering. I will try modeling the 763 in Spice and see what the overall EQ is.

Pedal to 'Blackface' a Tweed Deluxe

I recently built a Tweed Deluxe, mainly from a Mojotone kit (with some substitutions), and love it. It's fat, bass-heavy, and has a harmonic palette that you have to hear because I can't describe it. I've been playing my vast selection of pedals through it and usually go back to no pedals, as...
