    Guvernator - Control Layout Change

Thank you for the explanation Robert. I'll go on about worrying about smaller things now that this issue has been resolved!

    Guvernator - Control Layout Change

I've built a few Guvernators with the pots wired off board for the main reason that the controls are, IMO, backward. If I populate the board on the backside, then when it is put into the enclosure, the controls, again IMO, the controls are laid out in a way that matches many of not most...

    The Pauper

This is the third one I've built. Fantastic project and great sounding circuit. IMO, enclosures are the real challenge. My journey continues in the enclosure front. Every build is a learning experience.

Envirotex Build Guide - final update

I got some envirotex and mixed, mixed and mixed. Then I transferred to new container and mixed the @#$#! out of that. No issues with this product or method.

Envirotex Build Guide - final update

I've tried pouring resin and Everytime this happens. The resin is supposedly self leveling but for whatever reason it won't settle evenly. I am using Fuhitim resin. What brand are you using or have positive experiences with. And I did measure both parts by volume and mixed thoroughly for...

Wiring switch to control two components

Ideally the gain LED would stay on when the circuit is bypassed. But for now that would just be icing on the cake. First thing will be to get the two different resistors working and see how the arrangement works. It may be a complete wreck, in which case the rest is moot.

Wiring switch to control two components

Thank you for the information. Greatly appreciated. Now then, let's take this up a notch. If I were to get a duo colored LED, would it be possible to incorporate that into the switch? Say for example on the lower gained side of the switch, blue LED. When high gained side of switch is engage...

Wiring switch to control two components

On my first Guvernator build, I installed 4k7 instead of 47k resistors in T101 and R102. The 4k7's produced a lower gain effect than the 47k's, so I was thinking about using a foot switch that would toggle between these two components. I'm not sure there is a foot switch that would support...

    Electrovibe

The LRD leads are really thin so I cut up a tube from an empty compressed air can. I'll be putting a little dab of silicone at the base of these tubes to secure them in place. The paddle switch doesn't lock in as securely as I like so I put a little dab of silicone at a couple places, just to...

    Electrovibe

This was a challenging build for sure. Getting the LED's lined up and foot switch wiring weren't technically challenging so much as tedious. But she's altogether and looking pretty, IMO. Yeah, I've got some cleaning to do and some leads to clip.

    Electrovibe Gain / Bias Mounts

I think that was a record response time. You have skewed my expectations now. Thanks for the info!

    Electrovibe Gain / Bias Mounts

On the board there are five holes for the Gain and the Bias potentiometers. Why are the five holes here rather than three?

    After some thought...

I've built 8 or 9 pedals. Most have not have any issues. Others minor issues that were easily fixed. A couple that were simply bricked. My work flow has been more focused on populating by class of component and then off board wiring. Now I am going to start with PS, make sure voltages are...

    After some thought...

Yep, I do check values. I haven't texted the circuit along the way and this step is missing from my process. Frustrating is a kind way to describe the sensation when the circuit requires troubleshooting. Testing at each step or small series of steps is slower but knowing a recent change to the...

    After some thought...

I do have a tone generator for tracing. But after this latest build it could only lead me to the problem, not resolve the problem. With a fully populated board trying to isolate or track down a root issue is more challenging than going step by step. For troubleshooting I measure resistance and...
