2N4249 Alternative?

Hi y'all, I'm kind of new to circuit building but I am trying to find a alternative for a 2N4249 PNP transistor from a peavey amplifier head. I already looked at one cross reference list for peavey amps, which lists 2N5086 as a possible replacement, but that is also sadly out of stock at digikey. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming yes. I'm just a hobbyist, not an expert by any means. If the part is a low level low noise Si PNP, I would compare the datasheets and omit anything that does not fit. The cross reference I have was printed in 1972 if that is relevant. At the very least it should help narrow the search. I would start by checking what you have, give it a try.

Do you have a schematic of where it is used? Namely to make sure it isn't matched/paired with a other transistor.

Likely not, that range covers a lot of very different transistors (many of which are NPN, so that can't be right).

A 2N5086 is apparently an equivalent, and it is a common transistor in pedal world that should be easy to locate
