My friend bought the latest A Place To Bury Strangers vinyl, the cover to which is a PCB to build a crazy synthesizer/audio mangler, and asked me to build it for him. I had most of the parts on hand, but thanks to an excellent list from @BrainDrain it was easy to track down the rest. Took a while, as there are a lot of parts, but it was a fun process (except the part where I found out 99% of the CA3080s I've been hoarding for a decade were fake. Arg!)
It's a gnarly synth, but also makes a great audio effect/mangler on guitar or other sources. Here's a demo (skip ahead to about 8:30 to avoid my rambling):
