Welp, after moving from the swear words to “jeez, the idiot overlooked something”, I have stumbled upon a functioning ODR-C from AionFX.
Quick testing straight into a power amp (I know, I know) sounds darn good. It’s not YATS - there’s a LOT more going on. It cleans up nice, the LoCut/Spectrum/Mid combination gives you a lot of sound shaping, and can get mean with the drive up. It does have a lot more in the higher mids, which could get spiky for some, but I can see how it would help cut through a mix.
I don’t have knobs yet: thinking which ones to use. Board is all Wima red box caps minus a couple ceramic and one 8n2 that Wima does not make + all red PRP 1/4W resistors. Seriously, it isn’t better than the others, but it’s almost all red on the board! And yes, the Aion switch board is kind of a pain.
Special thanks to Steve at ChickenWing for the spectacular enclosure. Red, but has a subtle orange/copper shift. Also, I might, might, be becoming a fan of top mounted jacks.
