Hyped Fuzz - Octave Blend & Circuit Bend

This is where my hyper fuzz is so far. I'm particularly interested in knowing if I can improve upon the octave blend. It works well though so maybe against all odds i did good.

  • Gain changed to A250k for MORE GAIN.
  • The Boost is skipped over so Scooped and Full can be wired to a B50k blend pot.
  • Octave Blend. Please let me know if this can be better.

  • Dpdt On/Off/On Clipping switch for Stock, No Diodes and Circuit bend. The bend is a lot of oscillating fun that reacts very differently depending on where the octave is dialed in at. Try it out!

That's all well and good, but the boost circuit should be on it's own footswitch. It's one of the best boosts around.

not trying to scold you, just maybe encourage (because I want all these things in an FZ-2 and I am supremely lazy).

Is the circuit bend similar to the old DS-1 oscillation mod?

Mmm kind of. It oscillate but isn't really tuneable like the ds1. The more octave thats dialed in the more it gets choked out and makes what you play very glitch, almost like a broken tremolo. And then less octave equals screaming noise but also reactes to playing.

The Wattson EFY-6 Fuzz implemented an interesting Octave control on the Super Fuzz that might be up your alley. I've built one and it's a great pedal and a really useful addition. I've done an octave blend on a Super Fuzz the way you're doing it here and prefer the EFY-6's control personally, it's more well behaved.

The octave blend on the EFY-6 is great. I would recommend a C5k for that pot; there’s not much that happens below noon if you use a B10k, and most of the action is in the last quarter of rotation. A C5k gives you a much more useable control.

I’ve never seen pot lugs numbered like this - instead of 1/2/3 it’s simply 1 and 0… how does that correlate to the normal numbering system?

I did play with this way of doing for a bit. I like it but the other way takes the octave all the way out like a kill switch would. It suits my tastes better this way. But I have a superfuzz build I'm thinking of implementing this in.
