Skeptical buffer: C1 (Ceramic 3p)

Thanks Robert! Based on my reading and amatuer understanding of the circuit, it does seem like I can leave it out (C1 acting as some sort of filter?) but due to all the abstract claims of sonic magic I was concerned lol

Rate pedal caps at twice the voltage you plan to run them at or 1.5x the voltage you plan to accidently plug them into. whichever is greater.
25-35v is fine. Ceramics are usually even high rated. Use C0G/NP0 MLCC when able.
Dont be like Peavey and put 18V C1 in an 18V pedal.

One more question: for this application does voltage rating on the capacitors matter? For any given search on Tayda i get 3+ options for voltage...
As long as the voltage rating is a bit above the maximum voltage you're going to see, then whatever is going to fit will be fine.

You can leave that cap out - there is zero chance it is doing anything that is audible, and I doubt you're even going to be able to measure its inclusion.

I like to think of that cap as a placeholder, in case you want to replace it at some point with one that actually does something. Looks a bit prettier than an unpopulated footprint, I guess?? Depending who's looking.
