Tonehunter Ralf Reichen

LEKKERE!

What a treasure trove!

Definitely worth tracing and cataloguing each and every one.
May take a while to do it, but can't think of a better way to preserve Mr Reichen's legacy.

If you're uncomfortable with the risks involved in shipping them to Robert, you could try tracing them yourself.
I'd buy some cheap pedals to practice on first, build some confidence and experience;
then move on to the Tone Hunter Custom that isn't working, and continue from there.

Goede Daad.
Goede Daag.

Is it the same box and pedals I've got?

Have fun with it! The finished pedals were all tuned by Ralf. I checked the "finished" ones from the box... without Ralf's tuning, none of them sounded like a Blue Line should. Ralf always did the final tuning, and only the ones with a serial number and signature were actually tested.... Good luck.

Well, only the 2 "spawn" en "prototype" an "preamp" pedals in my box have no serial number.
But 1 spawn has a engraved text and signature on the Backplate.
The other in a sharpie signature on the inside of the Backplate.
Other box i guess then.

Markus for you info: i just recieved a pic from inside a original Blue Line. It looks like Hermida Audio Zendrive (PPCB) with 2 switches instead of Tone pot. So the Trannies could be 2N7000.
I tried again to fix it.
A 2n7000, BS170 and BF245 all gave me sound!
All the controls works now, volume, tone and gain pot, the 2 switches, but no clipping of the signal.
Gonna do a clipping diode check tonight.
IC's like Tl072, NE5532 and a OPA2134 all produce sound.
I'm getting close! 🤘🏼

Fix!
Everything on the pedal worked except there was no gain.
Tried all types of transistors.. nothing..
Then realized I had 2n5457/58 and a J102 I haven't tried.
All work!
Lush gain and the "dumble" sound!
I soldered in the 5458 as I found it to be the best one.
Got a NE5532 ic in it now, but I'm gonna do a ic shoot-out.
Now I have "dumble" pedal..
And I'm not the biggest fan of that sound 😅
I did find another Blueline board in the box, gonna see if I can getvthat one populated and working again. I now know the values and topology a bit.
Stay tuned.
