PPCB Ocelot Octave

I told myself not to built too many guitar pedals, cause I'm not a guitar player, but I couldn't resist.

This is my Pedal PCB Ocelot Octave, cause last time I had a metal production and I thought it would sound much more aggressive to put a octaver in front of the amp.
But I had none ... so fast look, which are studio standard octave pedals .... okay Boss OC-2 .... price ? Not my cup of tea.
Check Pedal PCB ... perfect, they have it!

Ordered and build.
Tayda enclosure in brown metallic, which is really, really nice!
Some Russian germanium diodes. I don't know which one, because I had them laying in a bag and forget to write the type on it. Could be a D9K.

Fast build ... plug in the battery ... and worked.

It sounds really good and brings me the sound, I had in my head. IMG_8107.JPG IMG_8108.JPG IMG_8106.JPG

So... how does a Nyckelharpa sound through an OC-2?
Do you double on the Crwth, too? What's that sound like with the OC-2?

Contact pickups or mic'd?

With some chorus, I bet the Cimbalom would sound wicked through an OC-2.

Maybe take up the bass, the OC-2 is quite popular with bass players.

I play drums … so I just use the pedals for recording guitar, when someone hit up my little recoding studio.

Today I just reamped a guitar DI in my 6505.
But I used a reactive loadbox and IRs.
So not tested it with a real cab and mics.

That'd be actually very cool! Percussion > OC-2.
I truly want to hear some drums through an OC-2 now!
Not sure if adding the whole kit would be a good idea, probably not, but the kick or snare, maybe the high-hats?

🤘

LOVE the snare, undecided on the kick drum.

I liked the kickdrum straight off, but after a few listenings to both clips, mmmaybe some people will find OC-2 on the kick slightly flatulent.
I think it could still be made to work, and I like it a helluva lot more than drums with '80s gated reverb.

MANY thanks for taking the time to do those clips!
